Check out one of our recent build-to-order tiny homes packed with pops of color, custom details and unique touches. This Urban Kootenay is 28-ft. of tiny home fun! While we love a timeless and monochromatic palette, the impact of painted wood walls, green accents, and acacia wood truly WOW'ed us all.
Urban Kootenay
Custom 28-ft. Tiny Home

When she's not directing finances, projecting forecasts, or working on design projects with clients, our CEO and interior designer/creative director Malia Schultheis uses her "spare time" to stage, decorate, photograph and edit the beautiful photos we're able to share with our tiny home fans. We're always excited to share new edited photos, and even more excited to share details on this super special build, while also detailing out our design finds and sharing styles to shop.

decor inspiration:
Our designer wanted muted grays, whites and blacks to complement - but not take away from this tiny home's colorful interior. This custom tiny home's modern white painted trim worked well with a textured gray couch, gray and white jute rug, a modern white metal round coffee table, mix and match textured pillows and cozy throw blanket, dark wooden rattan bar chairs, carefully stacked design books, and of course, plenty of plants. A stunning design component of this build to order tiny home was the clear cedar ceilings, acacia hardwood floors and butcher block countertops, which made the natural tones of the wood the true centerpiece of the total look.

Tru Form builds highly customizable tiny homes, which means our homeowners have a lot of freedom to pick and choose materials they want included in their build. We loved this selection of the handmade Moroccan Zellige tile work on the fireplace mantle, topped with a custom acacia wood top. These tiles are beautifully handmade and manufactured by artisans using authentic raw materials to create lasting quality and beauty. Our designer completed the interior decor with thoughtfully placed design books, geometric vases, Japanese inspired wooden candlesticks, raw stone and a simple abstract painting. Did we mention you can design your own tiny home?
Above the peninsula, our designer opted for a super simple and easy "bulb on a string" light kit, paired with an oversized globe Edison light bulb. To maximize light, which is important in tiny homes to create a feeling of spaciousness, we installed LED strip lighting on the kitchen ceiling, as well as a simple bulb flush mount above the sink. Our tiny home owner opted for a farmhouse style accessory faucet and apron sink, with a small hickory and steel custom kitchen shelf, a vented four-range stovetop oven combo, and a space saver dishwasher. A full height fridge and freezer combo has a subtle build-in, to make it fit perfectly within this small space.
