Tiny Home Tours! Inside a Fully Custom 39-Foot Tiny Home Built For Simplicity, Financial Freedom, and Peace.

"Tiny home living has been fantastic for me...It has brought me the most peace that I've ever had in my life. I got to design and decorate it exactly how I wanted. And with the financial proponent of not having the extra debt, it's peace."
Sara
Tru Form Tiny Customer, July 2025

Our tiny homes are built with love and…. actual sweat. Sent off by our proud craftspeople the minute they are ready, Tru Form Tiny homes hit the road towards their various destinations all over the U.S.

You know that “new car” smell? Imagine that, only inside of a brand new tiny home on wheels. Fresh paint, new appliances, custom wood construction? It’s a feeling we long to share with just about anyone who loves it like we do.

But, here’s the thing. As the builder, we don’t always get the chance to see the finished product once the owner has moved in and really made it their own.

In 2025, it was certainly KISMET to connect with the talented team behind YouTube’s Tiny Home Tours! By sending their adventurous team out “in the wild” we were able to catch some real footage, in real life, of real people living tiny.

Their stories, from rebuilding life at 50 to leaving the city and going off-grid for good, share a common thread….Tiny houses are so much more than small spaces. In fact, they are efficient, science-driven structures that change the way people can live beautifully. Read along as we dive into our blog series showcasing this incredible partnership with Tiny Home Tours this year and meet the people living Tru Form Tiny.

Fully Custom 39-Ft. Tiny For Sara: Spiral Staircase, Rooftop Deck, & Peace At Last.

Sarah’s custom Tru Form Tiny home proves that downsizing doesn’t mean giving up comfort. It also means living with intention. Built on a 39-foot by 8.5-foot foundation, this 300-square-foot tiny home was designed to feel expansive, functional, and deeply personal. From the moment you enter, the layout prioritizes flow over compression. The kitchen sits at the front of the home, opening directly into a spacious living room, while a ground-floor bedroom nook and a full spa-style bathroom anchor the space.

In addition, above the bedroom nook, this custom tiny features a full-height closet, laundry area, and “mini office”. The secret? These perfect zones give way for the main living areas to remain calm and uncluttered. Built-in storage provides hidden space and keeps things visually free.

Daily Comforts: Tiny Living With Indoor-Outdoor Flow

The center of this home is designed for real life. A six-foot couch anchors the space. This was an intentional choice. While larger furniture is often not the norm when it comes to a tiny home living room, this client made sure her design prioritized her full-sized, extra comfortable couch.

Large casement windows behind the seating area provide expansive views of the surrounding horse farm. Custom ceiling beams, a ceiling fan, and a gel-canister fireplace add warmth, airflow, and architectural interest. Lastly, a large TV completes the living quarters – and makes it this owners’ favorite place to unwind.

The living room opens directly onto a fully attached screen porch through a six-foot glass door. Furthermore, this creates a seamless indoor-outdoor experience. This extension effectively increases the home’s usable square footage and allows the space to adapt with the seasons. Inside, the L-shaped kitchen maintains that openness. Additionally, quartz countertops, gold fixtures, a compact granite sink, custom shelving, and DC-powered appliances tie in efficiency and modern design. Across from the kitchen, a small bistro table and herringbone-pattern ash hardwood floors add a touch of refinement, without the excess.

Low Impact Living: Peace In Financial Freedom; Ability To Move.

Beyond design, this tiny home represents a powerful shift toward financial independence. After her divorce, Sarah invested her settlement into a Tru Form Tiny home that could be paid off quickly and support her long-term stability. With a base price of approximately $140,000 and $100,000 in luxury upgrades, which included outdoor living spaces and a full solar system, the total investment came to $240,000.

Equipped with solar power, propane appliances, and a composting toilet, the home is well-suited Sara made choices for her build that provide an opportunity for low-impact, off-grid living. Placed on a friend’s horse farm, Sarah avoids rent while enjoying panoramic views. This also gives this tiny homeowner the flexibility to move her tiny home on wheels – in the future.

More than anything, this build reflects what intentionally-crafted tiny homes can really offer: autonomy, peace, and the freedom to design a life anew. One that’s financially sustainable and emotionally fulfilling, without sacrificing the modern amenities needed to live beautifully.

“Her mortgage will be paid off in just two years, after which her monthly housing costs will drop to roughly $350 for taxes and insurance.”
