New Atlas Names Tru Form Tiny Home One Of “Top 10 Tiny Houses of 2025.”

New Atlas, an independent publication documenting meaningful advances in science, technology, architecture, and design, has named a Tru Form Tiny Home as one of their “Top 10 Tiny Houses of 2025”.  A custom, first-of-its-kind 35’ gooseneck travel trailer tiny home, this build was selected by New Atlas for its spacious design and off-grid capabilities. Handcrafted for a Tennessee couple looking to travel, Tru Form Tiny designed this model as its first-ever gooseneck travel trailer tiny home on wheels.

Real Materials, Made For Life.

From the start, Tru Form prioritized materials for real-world conditions. The exterior uses Tricoya panels finished in Iron Ore, which resist moisture and extreme weather. Meanwhile, four-inch tight knot cedar accent siding adds warmth and contrast. Tru Form finished the cedar in Olympic Ebony semi-transparent stain and Tru Form Cedar Red. Together, these finishes create depth without overpowering the design.

Above, a charcoal gray standing seam metal roof protects the home for decades. At the same time, it reinforces the clean architectural lines. Black-framed, double-pane, Low-E vinyl windows increase energy efficiency and allow natural light in. At the entry, a full-light Therma-Tru fiberglass door finished in Tricorn Black anchors the exterior. Additionally, an LED strip light above the doorway improves safety and visibility.

Beyond aesthetics, the exterior supports daily living. A steel firewood storage ledge at the rear of the trailer keeps fuel accessible. Beneath the neck deck, an exterior hot and cold water spigot adds flexibility for outdoor use. Tru Form installed Lippert SolidStep RV entry stairs with a railing to improve stability. Meanwhile, the neck deck utility alcove discreetly houses tanks and the mini-split system, keeping critical components accessible without clutter.

Sophisticated Storage Solutions

Inside, Tru Form focused on structural efficiency. The team raised the kitchen floor by twenty inches. As a result, the home gained significant under-floor storage while maintaining ceiling heights. Also included are custom locking access doors, a fabricated steel slide-out drawer for batteries or equipment, and an exterior-access drawer beneath the refrigerator. Custom maple storage stairs lead to the gooseneck “office.” Each stair functions as a drawer, which optimizes vertical storage. Throughout the home, Tru Form installed forty-pound magnetic latches to keep drawers and doors secure during travel. Consequently, the home remains functional and quiet while on the road.

Tiny Home Interior, Refined.

Once inside, the interior feels calm and cohesive. Tru Form finished the walls and ceilings with half-inch maple plywood panels. Clean perimeter molding and modern window trim maintain a refined look. To add warmth and character, reclaimed wood veneer appears on aft-facing cabinetry, the kitchen island, and the office loft surfaces. As a result, the home feels layered without feeling busy. Marmoleum flooring in Neptune Concrete runs throughout the main floor, lofts, and bathroom. This material offers durability, comfort underfoot, and visual consistency. At the same time, it softens the interior palette and supports long-term use.

Kitchen Details: Designed For Life.

The kitchen anchors the home and supports daily cooking. Tru Form installed white slab-style lower cabinets to keep the space bright and open. Tall pantry and closet storage near the entry capture vertical space efficiently. Copper cup pulls add warmth and contrast, tying into other metal finishes throughout the home. The countertops use ApplePly with a Calcutta-printed Formica laminate and exposed wood edges. Tru Form carried the same material into the backsplash for a cohesive look. A Ruvati twenty-four-inch workstation sink with accessories supports food prep and cleanup. A Kraus Bolden pull-down faucet in matte black completes the setup. For appliances, the kitchen includes a Furrion three-burner gas range with oven, a matching range hood with exterior exhaust, and a twelve-volt Unique DC refrigerator designed for solar systems. Meanwhile, LED under-cabinet lighting improves task visibility, and polished copper semi-flush fixtures over the peninsula add warmth and visual interest.

Home & Office Workspace

At the rear of the home, a custom living room bump-out expands the footprint. Tru Form designed this area to accommodate a client-provided desk. As a result, the home supports remote work without compromising the living space. Above the living area, a five-foot storage loft provides additional capacity. A removable wood ladder with a metal railing allows easy access while keeping the floor area open when not in use.

The gooseneck functions as its very own private office retreat. Maple storage stairs lead to the room, where a solid one-panel swing door finished in Davies Dark provides separation and privacy. Inside, schoolhouse-style double sconces deliver focused, warm lighting. From the office, wall-mounted steel rungs with handrails lead to the primary sleeping loft.

Sleep. Work. Live. Travel. Tiny.

The main sleeping loft sits above the bathroom and includes a built-in shelving alcove for personal storage. A thirty-by-thirty venting egress skylight brings in fresh air and daylight. Additionally, a triple-glazed roof hatch provides roof access. A second skylight above the storage loft further brightens the upper spaces, ensuring the lofts feel open rather than enclosed.

The bathroom balances efficiency with elevated finishes. Tru Form installed a thirty-six-by-thirty-six neo-angle fiberglass shower with a wet wall surround. Delta Trinsic matte black fixtures provide reliable performance while conserving water. The vanity features Iron Ore cabinetry topped with Solene marble, paired with a Swiss Madison Voltaire vessel sink and a low-flow vessel faucet. A rounded rectangular mirror with a black frame completes the space. Instead of a traditional toilet, the home uses a Cinderella incinerator toilet, which supports off-grid living and reduces water use. A condensation-sensing exhaust fan manages moisture automatically.

Solar For Self-Sustainability

To support independence, Tru Form equipped the home with the largest solar system possible, housed under the floor or within cabinetry. The system pairs with a sixty-gallon fresh water tank, a thirty-gallon LP tank, and a Suburban on-demand tankless water heater. A Fujitsu nine-thousand BTU ductless mini-split heat pump provides heating and cooling. The home also includes a Splendide washer and dryer combo and a rough-in for a Grizzly wood stove.

Safety Meets Efficiency

Standard safety features include smoke alarms, LP and CO detectors, a fire extinguisher, lock boxes, and a ship kit. Together, these systems support safe, reliable full-time living. Ultimately, this custom tiny home project was able to deliver a rare balance. It supports off-grid capability. It stores equipment efficiently. And it feels intentional and beautiful in every detail.
